The Cornmarket, which is now locally known as the Coal Quay, was home to many transient and permanent traders including vintners, cobblers, ship-chandlers and rope makers. Nowadays, the Coal Quay and Castle St remain home to many longstanding traders and form part of the city’s cultural heritage. So call in for a coffee some day and soak up some of the local history of the old market area.

The Roundy Bar is located in the oldest area of Cork and within one of the oldest buildings in Cork. The building is situated in a wonderfully unique building as old as Cork itself. It may be hard to imagine it while you’re sitting outside nowadays, in the busy terrace, but the corner on which the Roundy is situated was once part of a busy medieval market place and, at one point, surrounded by artificial canals instead of laneways.
We're delighted to have a wonderful Spanish beer, Estrella Damm Daura, on sale that's suitable for people with Coeliac disease. It's delicious!
